GoWell in Australia

Wednesday 23 April 2014

Professor Ade Kearns is currently in Australia’s Gold Coast area, the site of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, to share his experience of designing a research programme to evaluate the impacts of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Ade was invited to visit and share learning by Professor Paul Burton from Griffith University’s Urban Research Program.  In a public lecture at Griffith University Ade discussed the theoretical and practical problems of measuring legacy over time and in complex and dynamic urban environments.

Ade was also interviewed on ABC’s Gold Coast radio station, discussing how to measure the success and legacy of such large sporting events and the differences and similarities between Glasgow and the Gold Coast.  You can listen to his interview here.
