Why have you been chosen? You were picked at random along with more than 6000 other people who live in areas we are studying. What will you be asked to do?You will be invited to take part in a forty-five minute interview. We will also ask your permission to allow a researcher to acess summary information about your hospital visits and prescriptions. Your name/address will not be included in this information. What will you be asked?
What has the study to do with me?Your views can help to improve community services and regeneration in your area and elsewhere. We will publish our findings and present them to housing associations, policy-makers and planners. This will help to show them which kinds of changes benefit people (and which don't). Will your information be confidential?
What happens after the interview? For some participants nothing at all. Other participants will be contacted by us up to four more times over the next 8 years to see if they want to take part in follow-up interviews or focus groups. If we contact you, you can choose if you want to take part again or not. What will the GoWell research team do with the information you give us?The information you give us will be put together with information provided by 6000 other Glasgow households. This will help us to build a picture of people's experiences of community regeneration and neighbourhood renewal, and will help us identify what kinds of regeneration activities provide the most benefit to you, your family and your community. Where can you get further information? For further information about GoWell please contact Jennie Coyle. This study is only possible because of the time and effort contributed by all of the GoWell participants. Since the launch of GoWell in 2006 more than 6000 participants have completed interview-based questionnaires with the GoWell researchers.
We will ask about your home, your local community, your lifestyle and your health. If there is anything you don't want to answer you can say so.
Yes. Nothing you tell us will be used outside the study. No personal information will be passed on to Glasgow Housing Association, the council, benefits agencies, tax offices, job centres, companies or anyone outside the study. All the information will be anonymous and will not be seen by anyone outside the health research team. Your name will not appear on any report, or on any questionnaire as you will be assigned an I.D. number. Our reports will not identify anyone, by name or by address or by any other means.
